About Aicha

Aicha was the nanny for our daughter from the time she was 5 months old until about 8 months old. The arrangement was always intended to be temporary, as my husband and I returned to work for several months before moving out of state, we didn’t want to start our daughter in daycare for such a short period. It feels strange to write down that Aicha was only with us for three months because she felt like part of the family immediately and I still really miss her months later! Aicha has a very gentle and comfortable presence, and our daughter quickly adjusted to being cared for by her. She really loved Aicha. Aicha has a wealth of knowledge and experience about babies, which we really valued. She helped partner with us in working on our daughter’s schedule, transitioning to bottles from exclusively breastfeeding, and trying to establish more independent sleep in ways that we were comfortable with. Aicha would also do light housework, take the baby on a walk to grab a few groceries, or do food prep like chopping vegetables, which was a huge help. Our older child was already well established in daycare with friends so he wasn’t usually cared for by Aicha, but he had a few days home sick and he also enjoyed playing with her. She is a wonderful person and caregiver, we feel grateful for the time she spent with our family.
