About Akiya

Hello! I'm Akiya. I'm 26 years old, and I'm a Florida native! Growing up, I've always had a very close relationship with my grandmother. She too was an Early childhood educator. Her warm hugs, nurturing soul and passion for kids has impacted so many, including myself. Eventually I developed that same love and entered the field of child care in high school. I studied Early childhood education all 4 years and graduated with my National Child Development Associate (CDA). I've now been teaching for a total of 7 years. My childcare experience expands throughout age group's Infants, toddlers, Pre-K, and school age up to 5th grade. As an Early Childhood Educator, I make it my priority to create a fun, welcoming, and nurturing safe place for kids. I take great pride in my passion and have taken every opportunity available to be a positive impact in each child's life. My hopes for this opportunity is to meet a loving and welcoming family who will too gain trust in me to be a positive impact.
