We hired her and had a date set for her to start. She was leaving on vacation and wanted to start the day after she got back. We told her that if she needed a day to recooperate after travel we would understand and could reschedule. We also made it clear during the interview that if she accepted the job, we would be counting on her as we were going to cancel other interviews and had canceled our Care membership. We also discussed that if she changed her mind to please let us know as we both had to work and would need to find care else where as soon as possible. The day came for her to start and she was a no show no call. This is very disappointing as we were counting on her to start as discussed. She is also a school teacher in our school district and as a professional we did not expect this type of unprofessional behavior.
