I'm looking for a job that is really communicative. I tend to be someone who asks and doesn't just assume, working with a family who is open to working with me to understand the child/s needs at the beginning is important to me! I started working with kids when I was around 10-11. I became the regular babysitter for a few families around 12-13 and all of them I worked with until I graduated. I recently started babysitting regularly again for a family and it reminded me how much I love working with kids! My skills include negotiation skills- I have been told I am very good at negotiating during meltdowns or disagreements with kids to get the issue fixed without simply giving them what they want. I am good at following a child's lead- if they want to have their own space and not engage with me at every moment that's something I respect, whereas the kids who are attached at the hip and want to do everything together is also acceptable to me! I also *love* to come up with fun activities!
