About Alex

My name is Alex and I love tutoring K-12 students in math, economics, and test-prep! I enjoy tutoring because I get satisfaction from seeing someone maximize their potential and truly understand a concept they were struggling with. My strengths are building mathematical foundations and explaining the "why" behind certain methods. I identify bad mathematical habits and hope to replace them with good practices. I have a fair share of tutoring experience as I previously worked as a private tutor, a math tutor at Mathnasium, and a volunteer tutor through a non-profit that provided tutoring resources to low-income families. I have a Master's in economics from Yale University and Bachelor's degrees in math and economics from the University of Texas at Austin. I am also an Army veteran, having served in South Korea and Washington state. I currently work as an economics research associate at Harvard University. I'm looking forward to meeting you and growing together!
