About Alicia

I have experience working in a nursing home. I genuinely enjoyed caring for my residents. I assisted with bathing, dressing, feeding, and I found that I valued being there for someone and making them feel cared for the most. However, I often didn't have as much time as I'd have liked to build meaningful, personal relationships with the people I cared for. That experience helped me realize that I want to continue working as a CNA in a home setting, where I can provide the same hands-on care while also having the time to build a genuine rapport with the person I'm caring for. I want to be able to support someone not only with their physical needs, but also through companionship, conversation, and patience. My experiences caring for others have shown me how meaningful this work is to me. I want to interact with clients in an authentic way, because I don't believe kindness and empathy should ever be treated as optional in caregiving (which is often the case in nursing homes).
