Alicia did a great job caring for my elderly parents.  What sets her apart is that she truly, deeply cares. It’s just the kind of person she is.  She went above and beyond her duties, for example offering advice on home safety and nutrition and saying she’d  be there any day/any time in case of an emergency.  She’s someone you can count on.  Alicia has the practical skills along with the sensitivity and empathy you seek in someone caring for your loved ones. She’s cheerful and friendly, a pleasure to be around. Alicia has been a great help in caring for our little one. As a first time mom, I was nervous about leaving my baby with someone, but the baby absolutely loves her. She’s very calming, patient, and nurturing. She spends her mornings here reading and singing to the baby. During naps, she’s always happy to help around the house. She’s very professional, always prompt, and flexible when needed. I highly recommend her!

Alicia began watching my 2 children in May 2018 through July 2018.  From the moment I met Alicia I knew that she would be kind, honest and a good person to have around my children.  My youngest was 18 months at the time and my oldest was 5.  It was very hard for me to let someone other than my family watch my kids but Alicia made me and my family feel very comfortable.  Alicia took really good care of my children, she kept them clean (always important), changed diapers, feed them healthy meals, made sure naps were taken, took them outside and played with them. 

Alicia is currently working as a nanny for my 16 month old little girl.  She has been with us for a year.  My little one loves Alicia and is always smiling when she sees her arrive in the mornings.  I never have tears from her when I leave her with Alicia - it is just like leaving her with family.  They are very close.  Her years of experience both professionally and with her own 2 children show clearly.  She has great judgment about what to do for teething, entertainment, diaper rash and can immediately relate with the child.

Alicia speaks with the baby in Spanish and English, which has been wonderful for her, who seamlessly identifies objects in both languages.  What an advantage to a young child!

Alicia is very careful with food, as she is allergic to eggs, which can be challenging.  She is very attentive and we felt very safe with the baby in her care from minute one.  Even during my interview of her, I could see her diligently watching the baby in her activity center as she answered our questions.

She is very proactive with activities for her identifying a Gymboree class for her and traveling to take her there.  The spend time outside playing.  When I am home overlapping with Alicia, I hear lots of giggles, songs and reading. She clearly has learned so much from her in a loving and supporting environment.  On the parent side, Alicia was always timely, responsive and communicated if there were to be any changes.  I loved getting emails of pictures of her during the day.  What a highlight to see her laughing on the slide at the park on a nice day while I was at my desk!  Whenever my daughter napped, Alicia would pitch in with laundry and the like, which was such a treat.  I loved having another set of hands!

We are very happy with Alicia and wish she would stay with our family, but understand that she would like something closer to her home and with hours that work better with her family.  We wish her well in her future endeavors and send our highest recommendations with her!

Alicia made an immediate connection with our son as soon as she met him, making me feel confident that she would be a great fit for our family. We also have a hectic and erratic schedule, but Alicia has always been accommodating and able to help out on short notice. She has done a great job helping him through his nighttime routing and into bed, which has been challenging even for us as his parents! I highly recommend Alicia and I know our son does too!

Alicia was fantastic! I needed a last minute babysitter and she really came through. She was responsive and also arrived on time. She immediately engaged with 5 year old Sadie and was playing a game with her when we left. We were very impressed with her and would recommend her in a second and also hope to use her again in the near future. Loved Alicia!

Alicia has been our nanny since our son was six months old and will be with us through around his first birthday.  As a first time mom, I had enormous anxiety about leaving my son with a stranger when I went back to work. Alicia put all of my fears at ease--as a mom herself, she knows exactly what to do in any unexpected situation that presents itself--if he is off his nap schedule, going through a growth spurt and hungry at a different time, teething, etc., she is extremely tuned in to his every need and development, and reacts accordingly.  He loves her, and smiles and flaps his arms excitedly every day when she walks in the door.  He is completely comfortable with her and never gets upset when my husband and I leave the house, which puts my mind at ease. 

Alicia has a loving, fun and thoughtful way of interacting with my son--she sings and reads to him all the time, takes him to the park to play, and does all kinds of playful activities with him in our home. I love that she is always trying to teach him things, whether it is a new word in Spanish or English or a new skill like learning to stand or walk.  She notices every little detail, whether it's a diaper rash or a new sound that he makes, and I love that she is so attuned to his growth and well-being and shares her observations with me each day. She is also a lovely person and I always enjoyed sitting down for a cup of coffee with her to chat when I had a moment.

Alicia is extremely flexible and was always willing to try and stay for extra hours or come at different times if our schedules demanded it, and she also managed me working both in and out of the house brilliantly. I will never forget when we had to transfer him from Alicia to another babysitter for the first time without my husband or I being there--my son was so upset that Alicia stayed with him an extra 30 minutes to calm him down, even though she and her family had to leave to catch a flight!  She called to alert me to the situation, and when I thanked her for staying late, she said she would never have been able to leave him that upset and wished she could have stayed longer.   She is also extremely responsible and always calls if she is running even a minute late. Finally, she was always going above and beyond the call of duty; cleaning up the kitchen, taking out the trash, doing things that were not in her job description just to be helpful, which I appreciated so much.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Alicia and am so sad that our family's move to New York this May means that we will have to say goodbye.  I am happy to speak to any prospective employers further about our incredible experience with Alicia and cannot recommend her more strongly.

Alicia M. was a nanny and so much more for our young children who are a year and three days apart, and both under the age of two while in her care. Grappling with two such young children, each with their own needs and demands, and both still babies, is no easy feat, yet Alicia nurtured  them with grace, affection and a meticulous attention to their well-being throughout the day. She was always calm and professional, tidy, and helpful in many ways around the house. I work from home and she was able to negotiate seamlessly with my presence and absence during the day in the house, and quickly developed such a secure and positive relationship with our children that I was able to do my work without worry.  She engaged them in many daily learning activities and outings, taking them to parks and museums, teaching them songs, stories and alphabets in English and Spanish (and sometimes French and Portuguese)!  Both of my children have had many bilingual first words! She is also very health conscious, promoted healthy eating habits, made sure they ate and were hydrated throughout the day, and engaged them in safe play actives, and was very vigilant. In summery, I give Alicia my highest recommendation. She was a wonderful presence in our home and I envy the household who employs her next!
