About Alissa

I'm a mother of four mostly grown children (youngest is 16.) I have spent the last 25 years in Early Childhood settings as a preschool teacher, early childhood specialist, a nanny, and school director. My bachelor's degree is in special education with an emphasis in early childhood. I have taken several master's classes in ECE along with hundreds of clock hours in ECE professional development. In addition to my experience in preschools, I also ran a successful in-home preschool when my youngest child was in preschool. I love building close relationships with families and being interactive with little ones. I believe children learn best by exploring through play and it is my responsibility to facilitate creative, engaging activities that suit each child's interests and abilities. I particularly love art, reading, building and outdoor exploration with little ones and love going on adventures to parks, the zoo, etc. I am happy to do a background check and give references.
