About Allison

My name is Allie and I am a currently a doctoral candidate at the MGH Institute for Health Professions studying Occupational Therapy. I finished my undergrad in Speech Language Pathology and have worked in teaching and coaching for about a decade now, as both an adaptive swim instructor and academic tutor for kids both with and without disabilities. I look forward to getting to know you and your family! I'd describe my personality as charismatic, empathetic, and patient. I like tutoring because of the "aha moments" when something finally makes sense! The ownership of material is exciting to gain as a student, but even more exciting to give as an educator. I started tutoring when I was a peer tutor at my high school. I liked it so much that I decided to pursue it as a job! I worked originally with younger children in my district but have also done some work with college-aged test prep and everything in between!
