About Alycia

Hi! I'm Alycia, an SDSU junior studying English with a passion for education. I first started working with kids as a high school junior, when I had the opportunity to work with 6th, 7th and 8th graders alongside teachers at Coronado Middle School. Since then, I've continued gaining experience as a YMCA Youth Leader, working with elementary and middle school students in after-school programs. I'd describe myself as caring, patient, and easygoing. I love working with kids because I enjoy their personalities, sense of humor, and the little moments that make each day different. I'm looking for a consistent job that fits around my college schedule and allows me to become someone a family can rely on. In my free time, I enjoy trying new matcha cafés, thrifting, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. My top childcare skills are maintaining routines, staying calm in unexpected situations, and communicating well with parents.
