About Amanda

My aunt suffered with brain cancer and I cared for her for a solid 2 years. I managed her medicine, prepared for meals, handled bathing and dressing, maintained the household work, and all in all provided companionship. I planned as many outings as I could until she was no longer able. While she lost the fight to her brain cancer, I learned a lot in those 2 years. Caring for people is a huge passion of mine. Preceding my aunt's care, I lived part time with a family friend's mother who had Alzheimer's. I helped out around the house, cooking and cleaning, folding laundry and caring for the pets. I also helped with bathing and dressing when needed. Most of all, I provided them with a loving and kind friend who was able to bring companionship as well as an extra pair of hands around the house.
