I babysat my way through high school, worked at a Childcare Center through college, and then spent 3 years as a full-time nanny (child age 3 mo - 3 yrs) post-college. I later became a foster parent and have experience parenting kids of many ages. I now work in a professional career, but with a very flexible schedule that allows me to spend time babysitting.
