About Annie

I started babysitting as a teenager for families with in my church. I would usually care for two to three kids at a time, ages 4-10. In the summer of 2008 I babysat two boys ages 2 and 4. I would plan activities to keep them engaged and having fun. On occasion, I would plan outings to the park or the pool, but most of the time I would have them play outside. I like to stay busy so I would join the kids while playing and during down time/ nap time I would clean up the house. During the month of May I was a live in nanny for a 4-month-old boy. I maintained a fairly regular feeding, napping, and playtime schedule. I would keep him engaged during playtime by reading, talking, and singing to him. I would take him on walks/jogs in his stroller almost everyday. During his naps I would clean, do laundry (this included cloth diapers), and meal prep. It was a great experience seeing the developmental changes in just a month as well as the connection we had made. I graduated with my B. S. in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012. I planned to further my education to go into the health care field and started off by becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant. I have worked as a CNA in a long term care facility for adults with chronic physical and mental disabilities, as well as an assisted living facility. During this time I found that I love caring for people but it was not the right setting for me. I decided to go into nutrition so I can help people develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle. My love for cooking and need for helping people will provide a great balance. I would love to provide healthy meals for your children but would also love to help any meal planning and prepping for your family as well. I have a happy and positive personality, I love staying active and being outside, I enjoy being creative and doing arts and crafts. During my free time I like to spend time on the beach, read, cook, and do yoga. Throughout my various work experiences I have interacted and cared for people of all ages and different backgrounds, but I have enjoyed working with children the most. I would love to form a great relationship with your family and be a positive role model for your child.
