Starting in 2002 I worked for four years as a pre-school teacher, four years as a full-time special education assistant for Frederick County Public Schools (grades pre-K to 5) and about six years as a substitute teacher for FCPS. I have also tutored students grades K through 9 and, briefly, did SAT prep. During my four years' experience working with Frederick County Public Schools as a special education assistant I was exposed to a wide variety of children with many different types of learning styles and learning issues, from mild to severe. In many cases, the most important factor in helping a child succeed is sufficient time with a patient and understanding adult. I specialize in helping elementary level students reach their full potential but can also work with middle school level children. In addition, as I spent a large part of my childhood in Switzerland, I am fluent in French and German and can also offer tutoring to students of any age at any level in those two languages.
