When I was a child seeing my mom upset was the worse feeling in the world; when she was upset, she would play gospel music and clean, like really clean, dust, sweep, mop, disinfect, scrub baseboards, window seals, refrigerator, the oven, you name it, and when my mom completes her cleaning she isn't sad anymore. Cleaning up soon became my chore, and I cleaned just as she would; I wanted to keep my mom from being stressed. Whenever I visit home, I clean off impulse, wanting help. I started this journey as a babysitter, it was never required, but I always insisted on cleaning the home as a part of my service, even if the children made a mess or not. A clean home is a stress-free home, and I'd like to help keep it that way.
