About Aylin

Hello, my name is Aylín! I am a UC Santa Barbara alum. I graduated with a B. A. in Sociology, with minors in Educational Studies and Applied Psychology. Currently, I am in the process of becoming a special education teacher for students with extensive support needs. I have been extensively involved in education since I was 13, starting when I was tutoring elementary school and my peers. I have worked with children from the ages of 3 years old to 17 years old. I currently work at a non-public special education school for students diagnosed with autism. I follow the lead of the parents. Taking care of a child is a collaborative effort, but the parents are always the ones driving the bus. My approach is very dependent on the needs of the child and the requests of parents. I value giving children the skills to build their own independence, stepping in when needed to provide the appropriate support.
