About Beth

I have successfully tutored many children and adults of varying levels, from those with learning differences to some who are gifted. With a Master's in Counseling, a Bachelor's in English, and being a Certified Math and Special Ed teacher, I find myself drawing from all areas of my background as I tutor. I adapt a very relational approach, as people learn best from those they trust. I also feel it is very important to identify and build on the student's strengths. Every one has something they can do well... showing a student how their strengths are related to their current weaknesses is very helpful. I also encourage and support organization and helping students develop set strategies for their assignments, so they no longer feel so overwhelmed. I have had many years of success, and enjoy seeing a student's conference grow and attitude towards a disliked subject improve dramatically.
