As a long time Patient Advocate & Caregiver I have experience in providing care and companionship for others to include seniors who are in need of assistance with all sorts of activities of daily living. I'm happy to simply provide transportation as well. I have specific experience in caring for those struggling with general dementia and Parkinson's Disease. I am available to provide general companionship, mobility assistance, medication prompting, simple meal preparation, transportation, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, and assistance with other activities of daily living. I drive a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek, a smaller sized SUV with easy access and plenty of room to store a wheelchair. I keep my vehicle clean and in very good operating condition. I have plenty of experience driving for those who rely on a wheelchair. Please see my latest review below from the family for which I just completed a one year assignment. Reach out with any questions, I'm happy to answer any you have!
Anyone would be lucky to have Bill care for their loved one. He is wonderful and was truly a lifesaver for my family as my dad went through a very difficult time. We hired Bill to help care for my father who suffered from Parkinson's disease and related memory loss. Bill came for a few hours a few times a week to take my dad out whether to doctor's appointments, the grocery store, or just a drive, and to help around his apartment. My dad struggled with the loss of independence and with needing help and Bill was so incredibly respectful and adept at helping without condescension, maintaining my dad's dignity, and treating him with such kindness. Not only did he do wonderful things for my dad, but he became an incredible resource for me and my family. He gave us so many tips and tricks for helping to navigate memory loss, from helping us find and set up a memory phone to putting helpful easy to read labels near the light switches and other things in my dad's apartment. He was always thinking about and suggesting brilliant little things that might help. Never pushy, just a "hey, I was thinking this might help your dad - let me know if you'd like me to pick one up for him when I'm out." He has an incredible attitude, a kind demeanor, and is always smiling. He truly cares for the people he works with. He kept notes about my dads favorite things (like his Starbucks order) knowing that on his bad days, my dad might have trouble remembering it. Not only is he always on time and a great communicator but he almost always made himself available when we needed to change the schedule, pick up an extra med, or otherwise just needed an extra hand with something. He went over and above on so many occasions, I can't begin to list them. He is truly a wonderful person, who you can trust implicitly with the care of your loved one. Bill worked with us for a year before my dad passed away and he was a support for us to the very last day. I don't know how my family would have gotten through this difficult time without him and couldn't recommend him more highly.
