This allows for flexibility in providing kid, pet, and house sitting. I have experience with combining pet and house sitting for weeks at a time, aka, managing multiple types of animals at once, watering plants, tidying up, checking mail, running errands, etc. I grew up with animals and owned everything from dogs, cats, rats and hampsters, birds, turtles, and fish.
