Most of my pet care experience was with my own pets or my daughter's. I took over care of her dog when she got too busy to do it. For two years I was responsible for the feeding, walking, bathing, vet visits and administering any as-needed medications. I can't board animals, since I live in an apartment. I take care of others' pets at their homes.. I looked forward to walking my best friend's Sheltie when I'd go to visit. I took care of a group of four cats from February 2017 to April 2019 when the owner would go out of town at least once every six weeks. I gave one of the cats daily insulin shots and two of the cats got oral medication that I either mixed in their food or gave to them directly. The fact that she continued to call me each time she went on a trip made me feel she was confident I'd give them good care while she was away. I've also been walking an owner's two dogs once or twice a week since May of 2017.
