About Charis

Hi there! My name is Charis, and I am both experienced and passionate about working with children. I am the oldest of 6 kids, so nannying has been a part of my life long before I was being paid for it. My first jobs, like many oldest sisters, were babysitting for families in my community. After high school I continued to work with children. I worked with both 2nd and 7th graders as a teaching aide. I did lots of general oversight, working through behavioral issues with children (while informing teachers and parents of their progress), as well as grading/tutoring. Most recently, I have been trained in Applied Behavior An*lysis (this word was flagged by care. com- hence the censor) with Intercare Therapy in Los Angeles, as part of a graded training program to work with children who have behavioral issues throughout LA and OC. I was also CPR certified in this training process. I am relational, good at fostering healthy communication and boundaries, and can be helpful around the house!
