About Cheryl

I'd describe my personality as genuine, encouraging and compassionate, with a lighthearted dose of wit that family, friends and clients appreciate. My hope in finding a match is to offer support and care for a lovely senior who'd like to build a trusting relationship with a loyal, long-term caregiver. Caregiving has given me a new sense of purpose. I began by driving my aunt to her doctor's appointments, which eventually turned into 15 months of helping her through a tough cancer journey. We became incredibly close and I knew I wanted to be there for others needing support. My next experience was spending two years providing assistance, encouragement, cognitive training exercises and daily schedule management for an older gentleman who suffered a traumatic brain injury. I'm well suited to providing care and household support to someone who's currently able to communicate their needs and preferences, and who'd like to remain independent at home for as long as possible.
