Hello, I am a caring and compassionate person who has made a career of caring for persons with life challenges. I am 55 years old and I have been a personal care attendant since I was 16. My list of patients is short as I remained with clients for extended years. I cared for a 27-year-old woman for several years with debilitating MS. Afterwards, I remained with the family to care for her mother as she required personal assistance for daily needs. I then worked for an elderly couple, who had a variety of health and household needs enabling them to remain in their home during their golden years. For the last 18 yrs I took care of a 45-year-old quadriplegic gentleman. Duties entailed personal care, meals, shopping and light household work, I have taken a leave of absence for the past year to care for my elderly mother, with dementia who has since passed.
