About Claire

Hello! I am a mother of two sweet, bright children--a 9-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy. I am a clinical herbalist and in the process of building up my practice, and would like to supplement our family's income with child care. I have a degree in Anthropology from UNC and worked for a number of years after graduating as a full time nanny. I have also worked as a reading and writing tutor, as an assistant in a Montessori classroom, and as a remediation tutor in the public schools. I homeschooled my own children for five years, and have a passion for inspiring learning and curiosity in children of all ages. My nanny experience includes infants as young as 6 weeks to children in elementary school. I am available 3 days per week during normal school hours. I would be happy to help homeschooled children with lessons and schoolwork as well. I especially have expertise in teaching reading and writing, and secular, nature-based curriculum.
