I'm Connie and I have been a nanny for more than 20 years. I have worked for several families, with children ranging in age from newborn to pre-teen. I could be available for part-time hours only. As I work for the government full time I have more thorough security clearances than the average person. Having said that, my rates are $20 for one child, $22 for two and $25/hour for three children. The new app in care. com is extracting a 10% "security" fee per occurrence. With my background and experience I find that either cash or online are acceptable. Safety is a big issue for me. While I have had inquiries where whole house cleaning and food preparation are a part of the requirements, I believe the concentration of effort should be on the children. Having share this, I am a very hands-on nanny. We play, we laugh, we do homework and have a very enjoyable time. I'm willing to tidy up the "rubble" we create while doing crafts and activities, breakfast, lunch, snack. :-)
