This letter is a recommendation for any family who wishes to employ Dahlene for nanny services for their family, that she is amazing and you should 100% hire her. My name is Hailey and my husband Colin and I employed Dahlene from January 2016 through April 2021 for our two children. Our daughter R. was only ten weeks old when we first hired her and we did not know her prior to engaging her services. Right off the bat we hit it off with not only her, but her wonderful husband Ken. We knew right away that she would be an incredible asset to our family. Dahlene came to us with over 25 years of experience as a daycare provider and nanny, having run her own successful business in New York prior to moving to North Carolina. We all instantly clicked so well but what really stood out to us was her uncanny ability to make us feel at ease and really mesh well with our parenting style. We were brand new first time parents, navigating parenting in a brand new state, with very few friends and almost no relatives nearby, so finding someone who would become like family was imperative and she not only helped ease our worries, but she became that family we needed. Dare I say an even better version though? No judgment, no stress, just caring and kindness and continuous support. Dahlene provides a safe and educational environment. She provides healthy food, stimulating fun projects, and one of the cleanest homes I have ever seen. Our daughter was with Dahlene until she turned three and was fully prepared to go into a larger preschool program at that time. She was prepared with a strong foundation of numbers, letters and other great preschool level learnings. She also adjusted quickly to a larger group of kids because she already knew how to share, and play well with others from being around a small group of other children. Our other child B. was also with Dahlene from the age of 10 weeks on and went to Preschool around age three as well. Not to mention, Dahlene and Ken were able to handle the entire covid pandemic with B. and sailed through this stress with flying colors. B. was also super prepared to start preschool and has been thriving ever since. Both of our kids are now in public school and have a continued relationship with the Dahlene and Ken. Additionally, Dahlene almost never called out of work in all those years and she consistently went above and beyond for all of us. Dahlene is like another parent for my children. She has become one of my best friends and I cannot imagine our lives without her. Her attention to detail, the way she always thinks of my children, both then and now still, and even the way she thinks of my husband and I, just continues to prove to me that the day we sent that first care.com message was one of the best decisions I ever made. She will change your life for the better, she will make your children better, and she will help you build a happier home because you can rest easy knowing she has your children and your best interests at heart.
