After college I worked as a special needs assistant teacher working closely with ST, OT, PT and behavioral supports. Our goal was to encourage our students to be as independent as possible. Most students were wheelchair bound, non verbal and required physical assistance with all ADLs. While others were more mobile, verbal but behavioral. I eventually started working in home with some of the students during COVID to help the family. I now primary work with children under 21. I have worked with dual diagnosis's and children and adults with mental health needs.
