My Mom suffered with Alzheimers. Through the years of her illness I was her only caretaker. Other than the minimal help I had to come in to assist Mom because I did have a full time job. I was responsible for all of her medications, her meals and her housekeeping. Then the time came when there was no other option but a facility. I was at the nursing home everyday. Mom would come home with me for the weekends for as long as it was possible. I would be with Mom everyday at the facility and observe all of the residents who had no one! It broke my heart. I would assist them in any way I could, even if just a hug or a kind word. That gave such a warm good feeling when they would smile or maybe eat something. This is why I would love to do this for someone, and to possibly help with the burden of their caretaker . I also have no problem with tidying up or making a meal. I have taken care of multiple women with dementia. I am looking for part time days. References available upon request.
