I've spent my whole life spending time with and working for people with unique needs from a wide variety of backgrounds. My work for while has been as an advocate for people with intellectual disabilities. I loved it, but I'd like to get back to working with people in an ongoing relationship. I miss that. I have directly cared for or worked with- People with IDD and related conditions Severely abused children A pair of twins for 3 years Families living in poverty Adults & children with chronic mental health needs In addition, I have created and taught classes for caregivers on reducing abuse, positive interactions, skills development, regulating behavior, and problem solving. My daughter is also in the field and getting trained as a behavior specialist and a speech therapy assistant.
