About Debbie

I have been drawn to elders since my first job doing laundry in a nursing home when I was 16. My favorite part was when I returned the personal items to the residents; the stories and the wisdom they shared . Fast forward to my first social work job as Director of Social Services in a small Nursing home . I admitted clients and aided them and their families along with an interdisciplinary team to adjust and flourish in their new home . I got to see and understand the whole picture with family dynamics and interaction . At that time I realized the nurses aides had the best job as they really got to know and enjoy the residents with their hands on care . I got trained and certified as a Nurses Aide and have been working as one ever since . My goal as a nurses aid is to enable my clients to live as fully an engaged life as they want . Life should be full , fun and meaningful. Everyone in our society benefits from inter generational interactions.
