About Deborah

I'd describe my personality as empathetic, compassionate, and loving. I like caring for seniors because they are our key to the past. They hold so many wonderful stories of our history. I'm looking for a job that allows me to become a "family member". During the week, I am an elementary teacher and I thoroughly enjoy my time spent with my students. I started caring for seniors when I was in junior high school, volunteering weekly at a nursing home in the Charlotte area. In my spare time, I like to read mostly fiction, play with my dogs (I have 4!), volunteer with animal rescues and love on my family. One thing you should know about me is how close I am with my family. I have helped with caregiving for my grandparents and as my own parents are now aging, I am intentional in the moments I spend with all of my family, including my parents, my husband, and my children (23, 21, 15). My skills include active listening, offering companionship, light housekeeping and simple meals.
