Supporting the independence and well-being of seniors is my true passion. Over the past 30 years, I have developed a strong compassionate approach to caregiving, and to share my love, patience and understanding while caring for your loved ones. I am skilled at managing memory care needs, including redirecting attention during stressful moments and adapting to changing daily routines. Whether I am assisting with personal care, meal preparation, or running errands, I prioritize clear communication through your preferred methods. I have a reliable car and am very comfortable around pets. In summary, I offer dedicated, professional care tailored to your family's unique needs. I truly look forward to the possibility of becoming a reliable, comforting presence in your loved one's life.
I have known Diane for over six years. I originally hired her to care for my mother, who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and was living independently in her own home. Diane cared for my mother with the same compassion, patience, and respect she would show a member of her own family. She provided supervision and maintained a safe environment, which was especially important given my mother’s cognitive impairment. She assisted with activities of daily living through guidance, cueing, and redirection whenever needed. Diane also monitored my mother’s nutrition and hydration and assisted with meal preparation. Her household responsibilities included laundry, helping my mother hang clothes out to dry safely, and general cleaning of the kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. She made sure they were completed. What stood out most to me was the relationship Diane developed with my mother. My mother genuinely enjoyed her company. They listened to music, talked, and spent time together socially. Diane would also take her to stores, familiar places, and visits with friends, providing opportunities for social interaction and cognitive engagement. Diane demonstrated tremendous patience, particularly when my mother needed repetition, reassurance, or redirection. She was flexible and adapted her approach to my mother’s changing needs. One area Diane could improve upon is punctuality and time management. She sometimes arrived later than scheduled, but she was willing to stay later to make up the time, and she always made sure my mother was cared for before leaving. Unfortunately, my mother passed away from COVID-19, and Diane’s employment ended abruptly as a result. I was very grateful for the care and companionship she provided to my mother during an especially difficult period for our family. I would recommend Diane to anyone looking for a compassionate, patient, and caring caregiver. She treated my mother with dignity and kindness, and I will always appreciate the care she gave her.
