About Dominique

Ever since I can remember I've had a sweet spot for the elderly. Maybe it was from spending so much time with my grandmother growing up but even before I was old enough to get a job, I would walk to a nursing home a few blocks from where I lived to volunteer my time. Even until today, It's truly an enjoyable experience for me. I have a grand-aunt who is suffering from dementia, and even though she doesn't quite remember me and her conversations are in somewhat of a loop, I still enjoy our chats. It's so interesting how her personality is still the same, she's still kind, funny and inspired. Aside from my personal family, I've assisted as a caregiver for several families who's trying their best to take care of loved ones who are suffering from stroke, brain damage, & diseases that can sometimes lead to hostile behavior. I've also provided respite care for families who need relief from their usual duties. Other duties included medication reminder, daily errands, & doctor appointments.
