About Doreen

The reason I am eager to return to work as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is because of my extensive experience over the past 9 years in caring for deaf and hearing adults with developmental disabilities. This experience is not only important to me but also to my family. As a deaf individual who communicates using sign language and writing, I find great fulfillment in teaching deaf and hearing consumers how to achieve independence and pursue their goals. My close relationship with my hearing cousin, who has Down syndrome, has taught me valuable lessons. I take pride in seeing some individuals learn my body language and sign language, enabling better understanding and communication, especially for those who cannot speak. Witnessing the impact of sign language on their comprehension is truly inspiring to me. I am looking forward to the opportunity to discuss potential employment with you.
