I'd be happy to be your date-night sitter! I love kids and I'm very friendly, fun, trustworthy, and dependable, and I've been babysitting for 14 yrs. Before that I was a flight attendant for 28 yrs, and each yr I had 2 days of emergency training including CPR/First Aid. I enjoy playing with kids and helping them learn, and they feel comfortable with me really quickly. I work on call as needed, weekday/weekend evenings between 5 p.m.  - 2 a.m.  I ask for $20 for 1 child, and 25/hr for 2 children (or 1 special needs child), with a 4 hr minimum. I take cash or check. I have 25 5-star reviews here and 3 on another site, as well as a great written reference from parents whose son I watched from 1 - 4. 5 yrs-old before they moved to Europe, and I still sit for them every Summer when they return to this area; I'd be happy to send you those other reviews and the reference. If you get a last minute urge for an evening out I may be available within a few hours.

Dorothy is wonderful! We’ve hired her many times to care for our daughter, from when she was aged ~15 months to now a little over 2 - she is our go to for date night. From the first visit she instantly established a connection with our daughter and we returned to a clean kitchen and every detail of dinner and bedtime followed. Plus our daughter loves to eat more dinner with her than she does with us! They always have a great time and Dorothy is comfortable with every developmental stage

Dorothy was amazing with our 16 month old. It was our first time leaving him home with anyone but family, and he took to Dorothy right away! Even our usually shy dog warmed to Dorothy, and they quickly became best friends. Communication was great and she even put away our dishes, which was unexpected but greatly appreciated! We will definitely hire her again next time we need a babysitter! 

Dorothy is great! She is so sweet, engaged and patient with our very busy 4.5yo and 9mo. She is detail oriented and is eager to follow the routines we have sets for our girls. Whenever we have come home from Dorothy babysitting, we find our home cleaner than when we left - this is not an expectation but we appreciate the added effort and thought so much! We are looking forward to having her back next month!

Dorothy has been helping me take care of my daughter for more than two years now. She is professional and friendly, always on time, and does an excellent job!  

Dorothy is a very kind and gentle caregiver with a lot of experience. She was incredibly calm even tho my girls were very rowdy that night.  Would recommend her highly.  

We absolutely loved using Dorothy to watch my two boys (2 year old and 4 month old) while we went out for my husband's birthday. My 2 year old had so much fun playing with Dorothy and I know my 4 month old was very well taken care of! She's the best! We're looking forward to her watching our boys again in the future!

Dorothy watched our boys while my husband and I went out for a date night, and she was fantastic with our 4 year old and our 3 month old!  She is so friendly and has a very calming presence.  She asked all of the right questions about the bed time routines, foods and favorite toys, and she even emptied the dishwasher for us after the boys went to bed.  And, because Dorothy is a self-proclaimed night owl, we did not feel like we had to rush through dinner to be home at an exact time. We look forward to seeing Dorothy again!

Dorothy is a great nanny! She's been watching our 2 years old daughter and we love the way she interact with her. She's very friendly, punctual and we feel very comfortable leaving our daughter with her! Definitely we recommend her.

I hired Dorothy to watch my 2 year old and 2 week old for two evenings on the weekend of my sister's wedding (which Dorothy was aware of) where I was the matron of honor. This was obviously a highly sensitive hire for my husband and I given the timing and situation. On Friday evening, Dorothy arrived on time and did a good job with the kiddos so it was a good start; albeit a bit odd that she insisted on communicating via a cell phone that does not have text capability for updates, etc. A good start nonetheless. She was scheduled to arrive at 4:30pm on Saturday. She called my husband and cancelled at 4:15pm. She said her bank account had been hacked and she didn't know how long she'd have to be on the phone to figure it out. I believe her story as she was frantic but that is just not acceptable given the circumstances. She offered no alternative solutions or problem solving. Thankfully my sister also had a sitter next door watching her two kids so we scrambled and they combined to have one sitter (our hero) watch all four. But had that not been the case it would have been a complete disaster. Dorothy is a competent caregiver but I would never hire her again due to reliability concerns - if she cancelled in this situation she could cancel in any situation and her actions were a reflection of a potential lack of problem solving capabilities in crisis situations.

This was our first time away from our 4 and a half month old for an evening out.  We were obviously a bit nervous, but Dorothy made us comfortable right away.  She had a great demeanor and gave us a full rundown of our daughter's night when we got home. Would definitely like to hire Dorothy again if she'd be interested!

Dorothy was wonderful with our 6 and 4 year old daughters. All of us immediately felt at ease with her. The girls want to know when she will be back. We haven't been getting out much but I'll definitely reach out to her the next time we do. Highly recommend!

Dorothy is amazing. Literally a human real life Mary Poppins. This was our first date night leaving our son with someone that was not family, so we were a bit nervous. As soon as we met Dorothy though, we were at ease. She is so pleasant to talk to and our toddler ( 20 mo) son immediately loved her and wanted to play. Our cat (who usually takes a little to like people) seemed to know instantly that Dorothy was a good soul and cuddled up to her within minutes of Dorothy arriving. 
We arrived back home to our son deep asleep in his crib and all the dishes washed with the kitchen spotless. 
We will absolutely be hiring Dorothy again; she is a diamond amongst the rocks that are sitters.

Dorothy was wonderful and my kids loved her! I would definitely have her watch my kids again. Dorothy was very punctual and I felt at ease leaving my children with her.

Dorothy watched our 2 toddler boys so we could get out for a date night, and I definitely plan to have her over again! She was so good with them, they're talking about how much fun they had with her, and the house was much cleaner than how I left it which was such a pleasant surprise! She is wonderful!

Dorothy was wonderful with my two boys! She played well with my 4 year old son (C) and took great care of my 9 month old son (K). C is normally pretty shy but opened right up to Dorothy right away. We will definitely be hiring her in the future!

We have already hired Dorthy on multiple occasions and plan to use her many times again. Our son and cat love her very much. 
She is always on time and leaves the house in cleaner condition than she finds it. 
We love that she is understanding and nonjudgmental. Our son is special needs and she has been so patient with us and him.

Dorothy has been a lifesaver for us over the past couple of years. We don't typically get out as much as we'd like to but on those rare occasions we have, Dorothy has sat for our son & it was a perfect experience. 
We felt 100% at ease with her & after the first time we used her, my son was hooked! He knows her as HIS babysitter & I don't think we could ever find anyone else! :) Thanks, Dorothy!

My kids loved her and so did we! She played with them and gave them 100% of her attention. She also stayed a little after we returned home to finish cleaning up the dishes that my kids used for dinner. Totally not expected but a nice touch!
