Edna took care of my son from the time he was three months old until he was a little over a year, when she sadly (for us!) moved out of state. I’m a single mom, so when I first met with her, I told her I wanted someone who would really be part of our little team, someone I could trust with my son and who would hopefully come to care about him a lot. She did all of that, and was so wonderful with him — gentle and careful and patient and kind. When he was very little, I knew he was safe with her, and when he was older, I could see how much he loved her, which was always so reassuring. She did so many things for us — changed diapers, gave him baths, helped get him on the right nap schedules, made him food and bottles, washed up, organized his clothes, kept his room and the common areas of the house neat. But she did it all in such a caring way, and it meant so much to us, especially in that first year, which is such an intense and vulnerable and chaotic time. We were both so sad when she moved away, and my son still talks about her all the time. We miss her very much, and any family would be lucky to have her!
