About Elizabeth

As a teacher for over 20 years and private tutor for the last 15 years, I have been helping students build confidence and increase their willingness to take academic risks. I have taught every grade from k-5. I taught general education for 17 years and have taught students learning English for the past 5. I foster a love for learning, not just memorization. I aim to create an engaging, supportive, and patient learning environment. I vary my teaching strategies using visual aids, hands-on activities, discussions, and practice problems. I encourage open communication about what methods work best for my students. I celebrate small successes and provide consistent positive reinforcement. Materials are always age-appropriate and varied to make learning fun. Regular updates help parents stay informed and reinforce learning at home. Seeing a student's confidence grow as they master new skills is the best part of tutoring. I have a graduate degree and I look forward to hearing from you!
