About Emerald

I grew up in Long Island and I am currently a reading interventionist in an elementary school. Working with children has always been a joyful outlet for me and I have a strong skill set to ensure safety and fun. My dad is a retired elementary art teacher and my mom is a retired at-home caregiver. Therefore, I've been surrounded by children my entire life. I started babysitting at other homes at the age of 10. I have worked for countless of families in Long Island, Connecticut and in when I lived in Spain for two years. I have cared for children ranging from weeks old to ages 15. I am a very empathetic person, which allows me to be a very supportive person in their life. My calm demeanor and patience helps children feel safe and heard. I also love to share my creativity. I establish clear rules, while also ensuring creativity and fun. With parents and family, I relay truthful updates and create a trusting relationship. I am attentive to the environment around me to always be safe.
