About Emerie

Hi! My name is Emerie and I am currently a sophomore at UC Davis! I am a cognitive science major with an emphasis in neuroscience, studying to hopefully become a nurse! I have been around kids my entire life and continue to be. I have been a babysitting since I was 12 (currently 19) and find so much joy in working with children. My 2-year-old brother was just adopted into our family from the foster care system. We have been his family since he was 5 days old. Being a part of a family who does foster care has provided me with child care skills and patience, as well as the emotional intelligence needed to empathize with children. I have plenty of experience working with kids who might require a bit extra care as my mother is a speech therapist and my father a special education teacher. As an older sister, keeping the kids busy is my specialty! I love arts and crafts and am happy to bring craft supplies of my own to share. Besides art, I love being outside, music, science, and reading.
