About Emily

Hello! I'm a Portland resident working in the environmental field. I have extensive childcare experience, including babysitting and summer camp work. I value play, silliness, and providing the utmost comfort for kids in my care. My favorite summers are the ones I've spent working at my summer camp in New Hampshire. I was able to work with groups of kids aged 7-14 and watch them become exponentially more confident in themselves in a matter of weeks. Watching this process and helping kids explore their growth zone is why I like working with kids. I'm looking to work with a family who would need care on weekday evenings or weekend days, afternoons, or nights and provide reliable and intentional care that fosters comfort, safety, and play. I'm skilled at emotional regulation and allowing kids to process feelings in a safe way. I can get on a kid's goofy-ness level and run a imaginary bagel shop, track down a supposed Sasquatch, or create the next most coveted piece of modern art.
