About Emily

This past year I've worked for Dekalb County Schools as a speech language pathologist. I also nannied for a year for a delightful 4-year-old girl in Hawaii, before moving. I have my Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. I'm currently waiting to hear back from my national certification office. :) Please feel free to contact me! While I can't treat your children for any communication disorders (yet), it does give me substantial experience in one-on-one interactions with these young people. Using that background, I love to create enriching environments for children. As an extension of that, some of the first things that come to mind when I work with children include books. Additionally, I like to employ a child-centered care model, in which the child determines the activities (within reason). I also have extensive volunteer experience working with underprivileged youths in urban areas, as well as being a camp counselor in the Girl Scouts. As such, I have extensive lanyard and friendship bracelet making experience, for those hands-on type moments.
