I had been doing caregiving for the last 4 years. At present , I am taking care of a dementia patient for the last 2 1/2 years. Taking care of her bath needs, medicines, 3x meal, refilling her medicines. I have been her companion during my duty. Calming her down when she is agitated, I make sure I divert her attention when she is irritated, making activities for her and do some recalling or memory activity with her while sitting. My patient love me when she is not having sundowning issues. I love my patients and love to take care of elderly people because I treat them as my parents. I used to take care of husband and wife. When he died , I now have only his wife.
