have a strong background working with and supporting older adults and am very comfortable providing respectful, patient, hands-on assistance. I previously volunteered as an EMT in the Fayetteville area, where many calls involved nursing homes and senior patients, and I also worked in a retirement-home setting. Those experiences taught me how important patience, clear communication, dignity, and calm reassurance are when supporting older adults. I currently work in a corporate health IT environment, but I miss working directly with people and being involved in my community. I genuinely enjoy spending time with seniors, hearing their stories, and learning from them. I would be comfortable assisting with evening routines, meals, mobility support, and helping someone feel safe and supported during daily activities. I'm also very comfortable communicating regularly with family members by text or phone and understand how important consistency and reliability are in a caregiving role.
