About Fernanda

Hello! My name is Fernanda, and I am a senior at the UNC School of Nursing with a passion for working with children and families. I am CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certified and have volunteered at UNC Children's Hospital in the Children's Short Stay Unit and the UNC Children's Specialty Clinic. In these roles, I spent time talking with children, doing crafts and activities, and helping make their hospital experience a little brighter. I also serve as a volunteer doula on the Labor and Delivery Unit at UNC Hospital. My experience with children extends beyond healthcare. I helped care for my two younger siblings from infancy while my parents were at work, and they are now 8 and 6 years old. I hope to become a pediatric nurse because I truly enjoy working with children and creating a safe, positive, and engaging environment where they can learn, play, and have fun.
