I would not recommend "Gigi" as a caregiver based on our experience. During our initial conversations, the rate she quoted in person was higher than what had been discussed by phone. From the beginning, she also made negative comments about the caregiver who had referred her and volunteered herself and another caregivers for hours that had never been discussed or approved with me. She gave the impression she was running her own in home care business with different caregivers - which was very questionable. My mother later told me that Gigi had been asking questions about her finances, credit cards, car and living arrangements. These conversations were inappropriate and crossed professional boundaries. Once I learned what had been discussed, I ended the arrangement immediately. Families hiring someone to care for a vulnerable loved one need a caregiver who respects boundaries, communicates directly with the person coordinating the care and does not involve themselves in private financial or family matters. I would be very cautious with hiring this individual.
