I worked as an LNA (licensed nursing assistant) or also called CNA for 5+ years at a very nice retirement home during college. I worked in all departments such as independent living, assisted living, nursing (which is a total care unit) as well as a special care unit which focuses on patients with dementia. Because of this experience, I am well versed in helping people with a variety of needs. On a daily basis, I would help with feeding, bathing, bathroom, and dressing. I understand the importance of making the patient/resident be as independent as possible all the while helping them. I also worked at a hospital in Nashua, NH for one year so I have more experience with catheter care, IV removal etc.
