Our family has known Heather for over 30 years, and when my mom began experiencing the early stages of dementia, we turned to someone we already knew we could trust. Heather has helped Mom with a wide variety of day-to-day needs, including getting her to appointments, running errands, grocery shopping, cooking, companionship, and helping with bills and household tasks. As Mom’s dementia has progressed, trying to manage her care from out of state has become increasingly challenging. I live in Arizona, and even with flying back and forth, I simply couldn’t be there enough to make sure Mom was safe and had the support she needed. Having Heather there—someone dependable, caring, patient, and genuinely looking out for Mom—has given our family tremendous peace of mind. I also want to note that mom can be quite challenging and stubborn. Mom's personality, without the additional challenges of aging and dementia, requires someone with patience, understanding and the ability to not take lashouts personally. It's not easy being aware that you are losing your autonomy and your independence. And Heather handles mom with grace. I would absolutely recommend Heather to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate person to help care for an aging parent or loved one.
