About Hillary

I am a 26-year-old private nanny with seven years of child care experience working on degrees in Special Education and Music Therapy. I am certified in First Aid and CPR and am working toward an American Sign Language certification. I am experienced in meal planning, grocery shopping, meal preparation, errand running, and supervising household maintenance appointments. I have worked individually with up to five children of varying ages in a single family, and have experience with children with special needs. I feel very strongly that working with children is a gift, and that I have the unique opportunity to encourage and help shape them into the people they will become. I believe that education is vitally important, and that there is always an opportunity to learn and discover. I like to expose the children I work with to a variety of new concepts, cultures, and activities. We go to museums, read about and discuss other countries, learn about music, and have craft projects and science experiments. I work with the parents and children to pinpoint areas of struggle, assist in a way that is conducive to the development of the child, and reinforce positive behavior and goals.
