About Irene

I volunteered for Hospice for eight years . I went into the patients homes and gave respite care . My given name is Irene But was nicknamed Blondie for many reasons . I found my patients loved to connect with that name , it made them happy . I also have been a caregiver for four years to a very dear friend . Twice a week I've helped her with bathing and personal care , shopping , transportation to Dr. Appointments when her husband was unable to take her . Support and laughter always . I also took care of my husband right up to the end . He had a brain tumor. The last two years I took care of a dear sweet soul 96 years old. . This included showering , meals and companionship. And of course a few laughs . I feel everyone deserves to be treated with respect and love no matter what the situation . After all why are we here if we can't look after each other .
