About Iris

I'm a high school science teacher in Westchester. I earned a PhD in Molecular/ Cell Biology from UC Berkeley, served as a research biologist for 15 years (UC Berkeley, Johns Hopkins, NIH, UCSF). I have 6 nieces & nephews & grew up helping care for my sister: 9 years younger. I love teaching and taught students at all levels (elementary to college/PhD/MD students. I'm a passionate educator, artist, and volunteer in animal rescue in NYC/NY (saved >100 injured/neonatal cats) During college, I was the Science Learning Specialist at LCC in Eugene, OR, tutored English as a second language to elementary students, helped college students with essays & scholarship apps. My older sister has 3 children & I've loved babysitting her kids during different times of their lives. As a science teacher/research mentor, I tailor lessons to your students learning styles and encourage positive learning growth. As a nanny/housekeeper, your child's safety and happiness is my priority.
